Dr David Walker MRCS LRCP

David joined the practice in October 2004 after having returned from Africa where he had worked for many years as a general practitioner – mostly in Zimbabwe.

Medicine has always been his major interest but not, by any means, his only one.  Over the years he has enjoyed many of the field sports that are so readily available in Africa including, falconry, game fishing and sailing.  But, as he became more dignified with age, dairy farming and lamb production, next to medicine, became his major preoccupation.

David has always embraced a challenge and has found on his return to England, a form of practice in many ways similar to and yet substantially different from that in Africa.  Therefore, with our imminent move to modern purpose-built premises, he feels happy and privileged to discover a new and stimulating challenge quite unlike any other.

He enjoys a good book, a good wine and a good play; all of them now much more accessible than in the African bush.

David is married and has a son and a daughter, each of whom has their own business in South Africa, and three grandchildren.
